“Strive first for the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
When Jesus says this, he is saying that everything we need will be provided for us when we FIRST strive for HIS KINGDOM and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! It’s so simple yet it’s so easy to lose sight of. If you are struggling at all with the basic needs of life, or even with having joy in everything everyday of your life, seek first the kingdom of God!
When God is first in our lives, not only do we automatically have everything we need to live, the joy of knowing Christ but also abundance of God’s grace, mercy, love and this can only bring SUCCESS in anything we are working on! No matter what we are doing, working, striving for a personal goal or looking for a positive change in your life, you will succeed if and when God is first in your life. When you seek first the kingdom of God, you can’t go wrong because no matter what you’re doing, you are moving in the right direction.
So how do we put God first in our lives? Pray inceasantly! All that means is a little prayer before you go in your car, before you enter a building, during your workout… the fact is, God is present with us always. “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
Spend time with Jesus! If anyone was present with you, would you talk to them? Acknowledge them, perhaps?
Try praying, simply talking with Christ, asking for his blessings in everything you do and dedicating your work, energy, efforts and even material possesions to Christ, making it His for His Glory and watch your efforts multiply into blessings!
